Henn of London is exhibiting at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE) which opens on Monday 24th February and runs to the end of the week. They will be showcasing bespoke jewellery creations with rare and precious coloured gemstones at the heart of each piece. Master goldsmith and jeweller Ingo Henn, who heads up Henn of London, will be on hand to present and discuss the one of a kind works available and to explore the fine art jewellery commissioning process with guests and visitors.
Waterlilies is one of the star pieces on display, a sophisticated contemporary pendant featuring an exquisite 68.38 carat green beryl, hand carved by renowned gemstone master carver Alfred Zimmermann. Subtle hand engraving to the side of the pendant references the graceful flow of the exceptionally fine waterlily carving.
A 1.68 carat black spinel punctuates the piece, partially framed by diamonds, which also encircle the central gemstone. This refined detailing together with the delicately carved waterlily buds lend the piece a distinctive Art Déco/Thirties feel which blends perfectly with a modern aesthetic, all very much in keeping with Henn of London’s signature design style. Check the Waterlilies pendant’s full details in the jewellery gallery.
Henn of London’s latest bracelet design, Golden Pearl Bangle, will also grace the stand. This 18ct yellow gold bangle features an important and lustrous 4.94 gramme golden South sea pearl elegantly centred amidst graduated and alternating spheres, in turn pavé set with diamonds and delicately hand engraved. This intricate attention to surface pattern lends this refined jewel rich textural depths and a dynamic flow, highlighting its harmonious shades – from purest silken pearl through luminescent golds to the subtly contrasting sheer whites of its diamonds. A third highlight in Henn of London’s exhibits is an utterly sumptuous pair of statement earrings featuring perfectly vivid coloured green tourmaline gems from Afghanistan. These very rare stones are an extraordinarily good match and their exceptional colour has been further enhanced by fine hand enamelling in complementary shades of blue green and yellow green.
These earrings demonstrate Henn of London’s talent in creating designs that marry classical design references with complete modernity, always uniting unerring style with the finest of materials and craftsmanship. The jewels are elegantly articulated in a yellow gold setting featuring excellent pear shape and brilliant diamonds. Henn of London’s signature earrings, which are of unparalleled beauty could be paired with a perfectly matched oval tourmaline that would be ideal for a bespoke ring, thus creating a stunning and highly collectable jewellery set.
To complement and enrich the jewellery exhibits there will be a number of unique decorative objets d’art, notably a splendid desk set featuring a beautifully depicted pair of dromedaries in goldplated sterling silver on a rock crystal base. This naturalistic sculpture is a highly detailed and accurate rendering of these maginificent kings of the desert and measures 405 x 215 x 200 mm.
Henn displayed a horse’s head sculpture at the Doha show last year and this year Henn of London’s stand will feature a refined pair of Arabian Horse heads hand engraved in rock crystal on black obsidian bases with 18 carat gold and diamond elements. These rock crystal sculptures work well together showing the horse’s head at two different angles.
Another noteworthy objet d’art that will be on display is an absolutely superb fancy baroque ruby and zoisite bowl hand carved from a gemstone originating in Longido, Tanzania. This extraordinarily beautiful piece, a true wonder of nature masterfully carved in Henn’s workshops measures 130 x 120 x 105 mm and is guaranteed to set collectors’ hearts racing at the show.
The Henn of London team looks forward to welcoming you at the show, where they will be exhibiting within the AlMajed Booth Number C4, the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition, 24-29 February 2020.
